Hi everyone!
The Napa to Santa Cruz 200mi Run Relay benefits organ recipients and
gets
the word out about the importance of organ donation.
This is my 3rd year doing it. Each time with a new twist. First a
corporate team, then a 6 man/6 woman mixed team, and now in the 4
person
Ultra Division.
I have 3 incredible running teammates, Gerry Morton, Jenna Dee, and
Tana
Netsch.
Gerry has qualified for the Western States with a fast 50mi ultra run
finish.
Jenna ran in college, coached by world champion Michael Johnson, and
has
finished 8 marathons around 3:20. We've chosen her to climb the 2500ft
HWY
9 leg.
Tana has finished 3 Ironmans and qualified for the Hawaii Ironman Championships this year. She enjoys 28 mile runs in her free time.
And I have successfully finished 5 bowls of cereal, 4 large bananas, a
full pot of spaghetti, and 2 Togo's #29 sandwiches in one day... and
recovered
completely by morning.below is the schedule of our run legs so any of you that live near
the
course might come out and catch a glimpse as we come by.
Usually this race is for a team of 12 alternating 5mi runs. This is the first time for the 4-person Ultra Division and we are 1 of 2 entrants.
Because we are only 4, they are starting us first at 9am on Saturday.
We hope to surprise them and be the first team to Santa Cruz by 11am on
Sunday
