 It was pretty wild getting into that rolling water beneath that majestic bridge and thick fog. And self-propelling ourselves through that twisting, frothing, clash of ocean and river currents. It was intense with the coast guard rescue copter flying back & forth under the bridge and the sag boat that was picking up slower swimmers and rushing them to the front. I saw Nicole waving her paddles to ward off boats that weren't radiod in time by the helicopter. Yea, we did it, and no one got hurt ... this time. Yes, there was a bunch of kayaks at the start, they just needed pilots and there wasn't many. Out of 5 kayakers, maybe 3 were organized by Dave. Nicole & another girl were personal escorts that got recruited for general pack duty. Next year, we should all go out and help kayak.
