• (10 min) Worship music

• (5 min) Leader greets guests, introduces worship team, announces the sequence of speakers, and says what Iron Prayer is "prayer services before Ironmans. All volunteer. Started by Chad Hawker in 2000".  Opens in prayer.

• (5-8 min) Heather Gollnick gives short story / testimony / encouragement

• (5-8 min) JR Rosania gives short story / testimony / encouragement

• (5 min) Leader Chris Anderson gives short message. Explains how we will breaking into small groups to pray.

• (15 min) Prayer time. Pastor either takes requests and all pray as a group, or break up into small groups to pray for each other

• (5-10 min) Worship Music

• (5 min) Leader thanks speakers, worship team, and everyone for coming, asks people to sign guest list (with email address if interested), closes in short prayer

• In and around EXPO and Registration (ask for permission from Shelley)

• Along Sherman Ave (Between Lakeside and 5th)

• Along Shoreline of Lake

These are small flyers (1/3 sheet) to hand to people interested and, if allowed, to leave in stacks at info table, registration.

Supplies:

• Iron Prayer Banner & twine - ??

• Iron Prayer hand-outs - please print 10 sheets and cut. Hand out to those interested

• Notepad - collect emails from those interested in ICTN & Trinity Triathletes

• Camera - take pictures of Iron Prayer

Publicity:

1. Putting flyers in race packets: $250 fee (http://www.ironmannorthamerica.com/sponsorpres/expoform.pdf) or provide certain # of volunteers (Contact Donna Chambers - Volunteer Coordinator - donna@cdachamber.com - 208-415-0106)

2. Posting flyers around Expo area and town

3. Hand out small flyers to people you meet

4. Hanging Iron Prayer banner: in or around Expo area ideally 2 days before IP event & then move to location of Iron Prayer day of prayer service

5. Announce Iron Prayer event at Expo

6. Ask local radio station and/or newspaper to announce Iron Prayer

What is Iron Prayer?

"Come for an opportunity to hear testimonies, worship our Lord Jesus, and support fellow athletes in prayer!"

Iron Prayer - "A time to focus our hearts and minds back on God, through prayer, testimony, and worship, during the Ironman event which, in many ways, likens to the hurdles in life that we can overcome through Christ who strengthens us."

The IRON PRAYER is a NON DENOMINATIONAL gathering of athletes, family, and friends for a time of worship, testimonies, and prayer prior to Ironman triathlon events around the world. The purpose is to help everyone get their focus from "self", and all that is going on with the event, to the source of strength - God and to the needs of others as we pray for each other.
