Talk - Encourage Each Other in the Race Marked Out for us

I. The world's greatest sporting events produce our greatest sports heroes.

 Think of:

We're amazed by these feats. (Your friends & family may already be amazed by your training) We're inspired by their quotes… Remember the man that raced by guts? "To give anything less than your best, is to sacrifice the gift." Steve Prefontaine

II. But there's another race we're all in… Todd spoke about it. Paul speaks about it in Heb. 12:1. it's… The race God has marked out for us. It may be…

III. Which is harder? I asked some people - Carrie & Chad

I figured surely these sport champions or an Ironman should have all the discipline & endurance to excel in any one of these "life events". But in so many cases that's not what we see.

Carrie - which was harder, focussing on Ironman training, or focussing on being mom & wife?

Chad Johnson - which do you think would be harder, training to win an ironman or being the good father of 7 kids?!

IV. Encouragement - I asked my wife, Robin, why is it that these life events are harder to complete?

Robin, "The encouragement isn't the same".  In Ironman you have applause, support, encouragement to never quit, and AID STATIONS.

People don't encourage us the same to conquer "life's events".

Imagine if we set up AID STATIONS to help our brothers & sisters in the race God has marked out for us...
