10/14/04   Hawaii Ironman Iron Prayer

IronPrayer at the 2004 Hawaii Ironman was a great success!

It was at the Mokuaikaua Church near the Ironman finish line.

The Lord is faithful in blessing work done for Him.
We're so thankful for the enthusiastic efforts of Pastor Derek Napoleon, worship leader, Brian Boshard, speaker & pro triathlete, Heather Gollnick, and the Mokuaikaua Praise Team! Everyone was so eager to help make IronPrayer as impacting as possible.
We had about 30 people. Some from far states like Virginia and Wisconsin, and some from other countries (Italy, Germany, England, and Switzerland)!

Brian started and finished with great worship music that was perfectly fitting for Ironman preparing to put themselves to the test.

Troy spoke about "Being Content" with whatever happens, because it may be the best thing that possibly could happen.
Matt 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Heather Gollnick spoke about how important it is to make time for our personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
"I'm excited about racing because I'm going to have the whole day with God. Nobody talking to me, distracting me.."

Derek Nopoleon spoke about being a witness for Jesus - 1 Peter 2:12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.
And God's promises "There's no promise God has ever made to you that He won't fulfill" - 2 Cor 1:20 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God.
Derek invited all to pray for one another, and the Spirit guided the requests such that 2 people felt spoken directly to and were so thankful. Heather's talk was such a blessing to one woman, you could tell it made a difference.

And how rewarding and uplifting it was to see the athletes that came to Iron Prayer race in the Ironman on Saturday while giving God the Glory!
We saw Heather battling painful stomach problems but refusing to stop and finishing 13th overall.
We saw Tana racing with a constant smile, even though depleted of energy and finishing much later than usual.
We saw Phillip point Heavenward at the finish.
We saw Vinnie Monseau from West Virginia who really appreciated prayer for stomach issues.

Robin & Troy want to also thank
Kim, Gordon, Eric, Andrew, Alex and Mitchell Dong for having us stay at there wonderful home.
and Bruce & Margie Campbell for their efforts at Grace Community Church
and Chad Hawker for starting Iron Prayer and introducing us to all these great people we now know in Hawaii!

God Bless All of You - for the work you do for Christ.
