10/17/02  Hawaii Ironman Iron Prayer

Praise the Lord that He was glorified amidst 60 interested visitors.

Thanks everyone for all your help, your support, and just being a part of a good thing in our sport.

Here is a brief review of Trinity Triathletes efforts at Hawaii Ironman 2002:

10/16 Belinda Hollaran, Australian Professional Triathlete, spoke of triathlon & our Lord to school children at Kona Christian Academy, courtesy of teacher, Kim Dong.

10/17 Iron Prayer! Flyers and a new "Iron Prayer" banner and announcements by race announcer, Don Ryder, notified the athletes and supporters of the prayer meeting.

It began with music by the Mokuaikaua Praise Team (Brian Bashard - leader, Derek, Page, Chelsey, and others) complete with song sheets and a lively, powerful performance.

Troy Soares introduced Trinity Triathletes and the Iron Prayer format

"Iron prayer is a solid, honest, faithful prayer, versus the 'wet noodle' prayer which is often forgotten as soon as it is prayed"

Iron Prayer, a specific Trinity Triathlete Prayer Meeting for Ironmans, came about because Ironman races are special. More so than other races, they 1. Draw questions, 2. Bring onlookers, 3. Birth great stories of perseverance. All of which are grounds for witnessing.

Pastor Bruce Campbell gave a great talk as always.  As a local, always involved with Ironman, he has a lot of insight for relating to the athletes.

We had a great time of prayer, wonderful testimony from professional Belinda Hollaran, and pictures afterwards.

Some Hawaii Ironman results from our brothers and sisters in Christ...
